Think about this quote from Richard Charnley before going with what seems the cheapest quote.
When driving up to Blackpool on a summer's Saturday and seeing some old knacker on the hard shoulder, it's miserable looking passengers sitting on the embankment, I can imagine that their predicament might have started with someone saying,"I can get you a much lower price."

At today's prices it cost around 70 pence per mile just for fuel to run a standard coach.
Bus and coach travel is the Safest and Greenest way to travel.

Coach size & type
Coach prices take into account the coach size and coach type. A smaller coach generally uses less fuel and has a lower running cost per mile whilst a larger coach uses more fuel and has a higher running cost per mile. Therefore larger coaches have a higher running rate.
Hiring a new coach with air conditioning, toilet facilities, drink facilities etc.... will cost more to hire than a standard, older coach and in turn our fully equipped Corporate Coach will cost more to hire than a normal executive coach.
Before accepting a cheaper quoted price make sure you know the standard of coach that will arrive for your group. Many web sites show wonderful modern coaches but the coach that arrives is totally different to what you expected. Photos on web sites need to show the company name on the coach shown. Mileage & Routes
Part of the coach hire price comes directly from the distance that the coach will travel and it goes without saying that on the whole the further the coach travels the higher the proportion of the coach hire cost is from mileage covered.
Large coaches use a gallon of fuel for every 10 - 12 miles that they drive and this can be easily reduced to 3 - 5 mpg in city use. Motorway driving is cheaper than town driving and main roads are cheaper to use than country lanes. We take all factors into consideration when pricing including road tolls and emission tolls such as London's LEZ (Low emission zone) charge. Most of our coaches are LEZ compliant and do not receive the £200 LEZ charge.

Duration
Coach hire pricing takes into account the duration of the hire.
This is a large factor in pricing as the amount of pay to the driver and the support staff rises for each hour that the vehicle is on hire.
Other factors to take into consideration are: Very early starts sometimes prevent the driver working on the previous day. Late finishes may prevent the driver from working on the next day and coach preparation and expected cleaning time all change the price.
